Rowena anon here. If Rowena knows about what Celeste’s doing, then she knows about Sam and Dean. Do you think that they’d team up against Celeste (like the end of season 10)?

That would very much depend on how everyone approaches the situation.

If anything, Dean trusts witches even less in this series compared to canon supernatural, so Rowena hits against the Dean-trust barrier. If she had a way to take Celeste on, they would likely listen to her and decide whether or not to follow her plan.

She always has a backup plan, just in case the Winchesters stab her in the back when she’s not looking.

There are two other (OC) witches in this series along with Celeste (though they will never appear in Brothers Apart due to location), and one of my future hopes is to have Rowena come into the series to bounce off the other witch characters.

Have a question for us? Ask away! And don’t forget to join us in the Brothers Apart discord chatroom!

Just a random thought here, but what do you think would come of Rowena and Celeste meeting? Would the be friends? Enemies? Frienemies even?

Well, Rowena is often drawn to power, so I can see her seeking out Celeste if she gets wind of what she’s up to.

Unfortunately, Celeste disdains actual witches, as useful as she finds their powers. Though she might be interested to know Rowena is able to use magic without demon interference, she’s already met witches like that in the past. She won’t let Rowena come close to her plans, and Rowena would spurn this treatment.

Queue them becoming worst enemies and Rowena working to upset Celeste’s plans, especially if it helps her learn a few angelic secrets.

Wicked witch of the woods

One of the few people to know Celeste before her possession, Adriana waits for the day she can take revenge on the being that destroyed her life and plans.

She might not be outright evil like some witches, but she holds a grudge that extends longer than a lifetime.

Her only appearance so far has been in Birth of a Nightmare, but expect her to show up again in the future!

Artwork by @sonocomics, they have a great style!

I know I just sent in a different ask, but this is more of a fan mail! I want to say how awesome this in depth world that you have created is! The amount of time that you all have put into this shows with the background of Celeste and the reveal of the knacks! It must have been crazy to have that all set up and then NOT reveal it for so long! I know I have said this before, but it needs to be said again; Amazing Job!!!

Ah, thank you so much! It means the world to me to hear this!

I think it’s been a minimum of two years I’ve had to sit on the reveals now. They really pulled together after Taken was finally finished. Celeste for a bit had two different possibilities for how she could go, though when I realized her full story, it all fell together and made sense

She was never just a witch though. Not even the day I started writing Brothers Apart.

Her full backstory wasn’t completed until after Brothers Consulted was moving along. Not because I didn’t know what it was, distantly, but because up until then it was some ‘she started her experiments in Britain and then moved elsewhere’ because I wanted the original discovery of the ‘borrowers’ to line up with the books that were written there. Once BC started, again the story fell together like it was meant to be.

For a wee tidbit, Celeste isn’t the only witch of the multiverse, and there are two linked specifically to her. The first shows up briefly in her backstory, and the second won’t show up for some time in a future story. The three of them will complete the Chaos alignment– Chaotic evil, Chaotic neutral, Chaotic good, and they’re certainly going to throw the world for a spin if they ever land in the same room at once.

December 19th excerpt:

Stan’s blood ran cold as it sank in. Hunters! Without question, he turned and ran full tilt, keeping to the wall as Nicholas stood to face the men who had barged into his home and dared take on a witch.

December 17th excerpt:

Nicholas unscrewed the top and Stan braced himself, expecting the witch to pluck him out and put him down somewhere. But it never happened. Instead, the jar simply tilted on its side, and Stan slid around on the old handkerchief he used as a cushion and blanket. Only then was Stan, jar and all, placed on the desk in the study just off the first room.

“Rest now,” said Nicholas in a voice that would almost seem gentle if not for the ever-present rasp in his voice that always warned of danger. “You did well, my pet.”

Thinking of the bitty Stan AU and a previous answer… not only is Dean’s gonna notice pretty quick that Stan is a redhead and Irish… but also he is a smol. Smol redheaded Irishman. Obviously a leprechaun. Yep yep. Lucky for him he wasn’t also wearing all green when Dean grabbed him.

Yeah, poor Stan when Dean thinks he’s a fae! The lil guy definitely has no hidden pots of gold, and really doesn’t appreciate the Winchesters running their tests on him to see what sort of supernatural creature he is.

Stan barely had time to curl into a ball and fret about what was going to happen to him before gravity shifted around him and the fingers keeping him trapped unfurled, leaving the little guy sprawled on his palm. He scrambled to sit up, freezing again under the gazes of two unknown humans now.

Sam stared as Dean opened his hand, revealing the tiny figure in the center of his palm. “Found ‘im when the witch tossed me,” Dean said, a trace of satisfaction slipping into his voice as he remembered the quick thinking reactions that had lead to the tiny guy’s capture. “Whatcha think he is? Some kind of leprechaun?” Shifting one of the fingers close to Stan, Dean lightly nudged the shock of red hair. “Maybe the witch made a deal with the fae…”

OK here we go. Stan is a borrower and has been all his life. Someone caught him, decided that because he was small he had no rights, and sold him to someone in America. Then, Sam and Dean get wind of this shady operation and bust the joint, rescuing wee Stan. Obviously he doesn’t trust them at first because hello, huge humans, but they try. Though they are probably needlessly grabby at the very first unless Bobby was the one who sent them in which case he’d’ve warned them, “No grabbing! U scary”

Nice! Stan definitely gets shipped off and sold in America, but Sam and Dean didn’t really expect to find him when they were on a case… he was more of a little bonus XD

This is the way things will go down for the unlucky leprachaun lookalike in the newest AU, Brothers Chosen!

We’ll start putting excerpts up for it after #adod is done posting.

“Hey!” Dean blurted. The sight of the kid running away reminded him of the fight, and the knowledge that they were in the house of a witch.

They couldn’t take anything at face value.

“Get back here!”

Pushing himself up to a squat, Dean dove for the tiny person running from him, instincts screaming that he couldn’t let the guy get away. For all they knew, this guy was just as dangerous as the witch, and if he got under cover, they might not find him again short of burning down the house.

Sam tended to frown on such extreme measures.

Stan flinched again at the hunter’s booming voice and the vibrations through the floor as he moved, but he kept running. He only dared look when a shadow suddenly enveloped him, and he glanced back to find one of those humongous hands surrounding his entire body before he could cry out.

The little guy instantly curled into a ball, not wanting any of his limbs to get pinched between any of those massive digits, each as long as Stan was tall– likely longer! He let out a whimper as he braced himself for death by crushing. All it would take was a squeeze of the hunter’s hand, and Stan would cease to be.

A bit of the tension in Dean bled away as his hand closed around the tiny figure. His fingers sealed closed into a fist, and he was already going to stand up as he lifted his hand up from the ground.

The tiny guy inside weighed almost nothing, and didn’t put up a fight or even struggle as Dean lifted his hand up. If he didn’t feel the tiny guy in there, balled up in his fist, he wouldn’t believe he existed.

Then, there was no time to wonder at the tiny oddity he’d discovered. He heard a grunt from Sam and sprang into action. Sweeping the discarded knife from the floor, Dean heedlessly threw himself back at the fight, dropping the tiny person into one of the side pockets of his leather jacket and promptly forgetting him in lieu of the witch.
