Sneak Peek!

Jacob’s been downsized, and Sam rescued him from the witch along with the help of Walt and Mallory! After helping raise the teen as his own little brother, Sam is ready to take Jacob out to the rooms to help gather supplies. Without Walt for a chaperone.

What could go wrong?

The table itself had the standard motel pamphlets sitting on it in the center and a pen that was longer than Sam or Jacob was tall, along with a listing of the channels for the TV. Everything was haphazardly left lying about in a heap, making it hard to tell if there was anything that might not be missed, or anything that could be useful.

When Jacob reached the top, Sam offered him a hand to help him over the edge. He eyed the immense door at the other end of the room while he did so, narrowing his eyes at the serene sunlight that filtered its way into the room.

Deceptively calm.

“Thanks,” Jacob muttered, brushing his hands off on his jeans. He took a second to let himself be in awe of the view this time. The table was barely half the height of an average human. But Jacob might as well be standing on a building a few stories tall. It was still bizarre to him. Sam seemed like he’d gotten used to it, and Jacob was never sure how.

There were some water spots near the edge of the table that suggested a wet cloth had been wiped over it hastily. But that didn’t rule out the possibility of there being crumbs of something left behind on the table. The maids were hasty, most of the time.

Jacob started towards some of the pamphlets left on the table, thinking he’d take a quick glance under them. He shot one look back at where his hook was secure on the edge of the table. It felt weird to leave it behind like that, though he remembered Walt telling him why they did that. Even so, he hated the thought of losing the simple length of twine, since a lot of his lifestyle depended on it now.

Jacob paused and scuffed his boot over a nick in the table, a gouge the length of his arm. He raised an eyebrow at it. “Looks like someone got pissed,” he mused. The solid wood of the table seemed beyond sturdy, considering it was thicker than his body. The thought of someone marring its surface like that (probably by accident even) was almost unsettling. Humans were powerful.

“See anything?”

Sam pushed aside a few pamphlets of his own on the other side of the table, even going as far as to check between the pages. “No,” he sighed, “nothing.” Standing, he kicked a few to the side, making one sheaf of paper float down and slide over close to Jacob. “At least we still have the dresser and the nightstand to check. Stuff falls behind the nightstands here all the time and nobody ever checks them.”

Sam made his way over to Jacob, stepping on the papers cautiously so that they didn’t go sliding and send him flying. He ignored how big the letters were compared to his boots, used to seeing the scale difference after thirteen years spent this size. At 23 years of age, he’d been downsized longer than he’d been human. Compared to the scant 3 years that Jacob had under his belt, Sam was a seasoned veteran at this new life.

He had only reached the edge when he heard it.

The thundering growl of an engine right outside the door.

Sam’s heart froze. They were far away from any way out of the room. Far from the vent, and up high on a table. “Fuck,” he cursed. “We’ve gotta go.”

A car door slammed outside.

Now.

I’ve always found myself wondering what people like more. My completely original storylines (which are much more fun to write) or the brief episode-centric plots that I tackle (harder to write, but often hit on an important point in Sam and Dean’s relationship that’s hard to skip over).

Originally when BA started, it was based off of the plot of the show, a ‘what-if’ scenario if you tore Sam away from his family. It’s evolved since then. A lot of the story has evolved past the original intention. You’re going to see similarities to canon, and you always will because it is Supernatural and I never want to lose that feeling. But you’re going to see a lot more original plot lines and stories than I thought I’d come up with just over a year ago when it started.

The overall story arc is (and has been) planned out with Celeste, and you’ll be seeing her pop up when you least expect it. There will be much, much more with sprites… both my Aeternum babies that have already appeared multiple times in the story and the little earthbound babies that have yet to show their faces in the series. Just like how humans in Aeternum are almost unrecognizable compared to the humans of earth, the sprites that you see in our world will bear no resemblance to the sisters.

Most of the monsters that I enjoy writing are mine and mine alone, but there is always the chance of a good ‘ole fashioned Supernatural baddie rearing its head.

I sincerely hope you enjoy what I have planned. I really do pour my soul into my writing and this series has gotten me through a lot of rough times at work (in fact, it still is considering this week at work tanked about ten minutes in). Getting to answer everyone’s questions is one of the parts of my day I enjoy the most and reading the reviews or comments I get from everyone cheers me up no matter how upsetting life can be. ❤

Oh, you’ll see many more sprites. Plus, you didn’t think I commissioned artwork of my Elenia, born of Ilyana, just for kicks, did you? 😉

Oh, and with this prompt you’ve stumbled onto another ‘secret’ project of mine. It’s actually been in progress for a bit now, working on a storyline with Sam being discovered before Dean ever reached Trails West. Here’s a snippet from the story, arriving sometime after summer, 2016:

In. Out. What could go wrong?

Sam knew he was in trouble the moment the shadows above shifted.

A prickle went up his neck. Shit… Sam thought to himself. He pushed his legs to run even harder, desperate to get out of sight. Either he’d overestimated his ability at staying silent or he’d underestimated the human.

Whichever it was, he was in trouble.

A shadow fell over him. Gasping, the cracker tumbled out of his hands as he tried to get that last ounce of speed that would get him behind the nightstand and back to safety. Just a little more… Like Walt always said, a bit of food wasn’t worth any of their lives.

If only Sam had listened to his advice and hadn’t been so overconfident.

A huge hand snatched at him. It was too fast for Sam to even hope to dodge. He was fumbling at his jacket, trying desperately to yank out his knife even as a thumb and four massive fingers relentlessly closed around his body.

And then it was too late.

Sam’s arms were sealed to his side, his knife inexorably out of reach the moment the hand closed around him. Desperate struggles were muffled in the thick skin that surrounded his body. It was like none of his movements could make an effect.

The world dropped away beneath him, receding into the distance as Sam was yanked into the air. He let out a desperate gasp, unable to concentrate as his surroundings spiraled around him. The human was shifting him to an easier position to see.

As the light clicked on, Sam almost went blind at first. His eyes, so well-adjusted to the darkness in the walls, had difficulty focusing in the bright light of the room, especially when it was completely unexpected. Sam tried to flinch back, then twitched in the other direction when he saw a huge thumb brush over his shoulder. He shivered, realizing how helpless he was in this human’s hands.

Sam could see every ridge, every crevice in the hand curled around him. Nothing he did could loosen up his arms. His satchel was crushed into his side, and his scared hazel eyes stared up at the huge human, afraid of what would happen to him. Walt’s voice echoed in his head, reminding him how it was almost impossible to escape a human after being caught.

They’d never been able to rescue Bree…

Any theories on who caught Sam? Any ideas for what’s about to happen? Feel free to share!

Commissions

If you’re ever wondering what’s going on with commissions, not all of them are posted to here as I order them! In fact, you’ll only see them added on tumblr when that part of the story is reached. For a completely out-of-context idea of what’s going on in ideas, head on over to here to see what’s going on. New commissions added as they get finished. Not all of them, of course. There are a few artists that are commissioned outside of deviantart, but the majority of them go through that site.

Give the wonderful artists some love. ❤

Nixie by @mogadeer

Krissy is very pale from her family living in the motel for her entire life. She has very wispy, light brown hair that is messier than not. Her eyes are a very pale green. After her father died in an accident, her mother became very withdrawn. Mallory took her under her wing and taught her how to make her own clothes later on in life, and after that her family started to dress better. She also has a brother who was eight years old at the time that Brothers Apart began.

She was the one to pull Walt out of the wreckage and nurse him back to health.
