In case you were wondering what little Oscar looks like, wonder no more! The amazing Heartstores has drawn him. This is how Oscar looks as an adult. As you might be able to tell, he’s still not a very tall borrower at all! Living in the motel means sparse findings sometimes, and his lack of a consistently good diet has left him malnourished and stunted his growth. Hopefully Sam and Dean can help kid!Oz out with that in Hershey Kisses and Salt Lines!

The water sprites of Aeternum live in the lush jungles of that realm, tending the plants to pass the endless time. The great plains and deserts of the realm surround their home, where the air sprites frolic in the skies. Past the plains lies the great volcano that is home to the fire sprites. Earth sprites, of course, live below all the different lands, tunneling in the warm embrace of the earth.

Reincarnation and Rebirth

After Ilyana passed away and was reborn in the fires of the volcano, Elenia was given life. Unlike any other fire sprite before her, Elenia is gifted with the magic of the water sprites, given to her by Nixie during the rebirth cycle. Because of this her coloration and temperment is far different than any other fire sprite. While they are easy to provoke and quick to anger, she mirrors her water sprite sisters, keeping a cool head in any situation.

Noonia, the fire drake that Ilyana loved so much, had taken it upon herself to follow Elenia wherever she goes. If it’s up to Noonia, her best friend will not get herself into trouble alone, no matter what.

Regardless of what the future holds, these two will always be found together, and Elenia will keep that flos vitae of hers safe.

Spritely Facts:

Nixie’s affliction is caused by a dissonance in her mind. On one side, she is forbidden to do anything to stop Ilyana, or any other sprite. Technically, this stands for them as well, they cannot interfere with anything Nixie does. Because Ilyana was already on earth, working towards her own ends, this makes her purpose come first, or ‘primary.’ The bond with Sam was all that prevented Nixie from turning on both boys like the rest of the fire sprites. Surrendering to it – so completely that even her mind was lost to the bond – was all that kept her magic from dissipating.

They may be sprites in name, but a more fitting description would be to call them elementals. Their power was too much to have on the earth, so each of the four were sequestered to Aeternum upon their creation, to wait for when they were needed by either the gods or any mortals to discover their summoning. They do have the ability to leave Aeternum on their own via the portal used in the first story, they simply don’t see any reason to. Probably for the best for all involved, as passions can run high when the different sisters encounter each other.

Another reason they are technically forbidden to interfere with each other… can you imagine the power of a sister squabble if she has the power of a tidal wave or an earthquake at her beck and call? Humans call a fight like that a cat fight, Aeternum sprites call them Armageddon.

One last important note: Aeternum sprites are all female, and call each other ‘sisters,’ regardless of element. They are also asexual, by and large with a few exceptions, and have no desire to seek out intimacy the way humans are drawn to each other. This does not, however, prevent them from seducing a person. This isn’t a form of sexual attraction for them. It is a different style of manipulation, and the sprites are well-versed in the art.

A Sisterly Quarrel

Nixie’s eyes darted from sprite to sprite, searching for the one in charge.

Dean drew Sam close to his chest, green eyes wide at the sight of the blue, protective barrier that wrapped around them in an orb and separated them both from the fiery blaze. Glimmering blue droplets hit the brothers with light splashes, helping to soothe the burns they’d acquired in the time they’d been under assault. Nixie did what she could, but none of the water was from a fresh spring, cutting down the ability to heal to almost nothing.

Before she could discover which fire sprite was controlling the rest, one separated from the swift whirlwind of sprites. Red eyes glittering, the sultry young sprite glared at she who was interfering. “Nixie. This is interference. You must stop.” She drifted over to the barrier, brushing her fingers against it. “You are bound as we all are to not interfere with other sprites. You must submit to me. My purpose is primary.”

“Ilyana!” Nixie said, her voice full of natural command as she beheld her youngest sister. “You must cease this attack. These humans are the ones that stopped our dark brother at their own peril. They have earned our thanks, not our anger.” She drew herself up in the air, hanging motionless with her wings spread. With the amount of magic she was channeling she had no need to flap her wings to remain suspended in midair.

She gave Ilyana her most confident stare. “I do not attack, and I do not submit. I stand in your way, sister.”

Breaking in His New Journal

The early morning sun found Sam perched on the nightstand, legs dangling off the edge as he watched a news report from a state away. The shower ran in the background, filling the air with the reassuring patter of water. It washed away the disturbing silence that never failed to unnerve Sam after his recent abduction. The tiny scrapings of a lockpick in the door continually sounded in his head when he was left on his own. Like now.

On the television, a helicopter cam panned over the landscape, showing the destroyed half of a town, crumpled wreckage everywhere.

Confusion runs rampant as the town has been declared unsafe for habitation. The earthquake last week coincides with the tornado yesterday down to the exact date and time, spreading rumors of a town-wide curse that afflicts it all. All superstitious notions aside, evacuation procedures are being followed by the mayor.”

Sam frowned to himself as he contemplated the report. Two natural disasters, spaced apart by exactly seven days, down to the second? “Definitely not natural,” he muttered under his breath.

He brushed a hand over the new journal sitting on his lap, loving the leather covering on it. There was still room in his older journal, but he was eager to break in the new one. The pages were even gold leafed, giving the small book a professional feel.

He opened it to the first page. While Dean was in the shower, Sam filled in his name, claiming the book as his own in delicate handwriting that humans couldn’t read without a magnifying glass to help. Sam Winchester. After a moment of hesitation, at the bottom of the page, in bold lettering, he put If lost, return to Dean Winchester, figuring it couldn’t hurt to have a back-up plan in place if it ever got lost.

No one knew who Sam Winchester was, after all.

Walt and Mallory Watch

Walt and Mallory are the two people that saved Sam from the witch when he was ten years old. No one knows what his fate would have been if they hadn’t been in the room during the attack.

They lost their daughter, Briella Watch, a year previous to Sam’s rescue, and in many ways her loss was what prompted his rescue. Neither of them would stand to see any more children suffer, so when Walt happened upon the witch talking in a scrying pool and getting instructions to take both brothers, they took it upon themselves to find the boys and warn them. This warning came to late to save Sam from his curse.

Years later, when Dean discovers Sam hiding in his motel room and only standing four inches tall, their home is attacked. Mallory was killed off by the demon that took away Sam and Dean’s mother Mary. Walt was lucky enough to get knocked out of the danger zone, coming to in Krissy’s home days later to discover his wife was dead and his son had abandoned him.

After a hard year, Walt’s loss is offset by the return of his daughter, Bree. Sam and Dean saved her from her captors and brought her back home. For the first time in his life, he’s discovering that humans might not all be as terrible as he thought.

Extras:

  • With Walt standing at a height of 3.8 inches, this would make him Dean’s equal in height at 6′1 if they were to stand at the same height.
  • Mallory, on the other hand, is incredibly petite. At only 3 inches tall, she would come out to 4′10. She always used to say she likes her boys tall!
  • Walt is a tanner and Mallory is an expert seamstress. These skills are incredibly useful when nothing is catered to your size.
  • Before Sam and his knife, Walt would face off against rats in the motel with nothing more than his old razor. Dean would be impressed with his stubborn determination.
  • All of Sam’s clothes were fashioned by his parents, and his boots were handcrafted by Walt. They might look a little rough around the edges compared to Dean’s but they work just as well.
