Dean glanced to the side, his gaze softening. Sam was slumped against his side, exhausted and weary. They had run for most of the day, leaving the younger kid drained and unable to keep up with his older brother for long. Dean had tried giving Sam a piggyback for a bit, but he tired as well within the hour.
We’ll just stop for a bit… get your energy back up and then we’ll find someplace safe and warm, okay?
Sam blinked up at the ceiling overhead. He was currently under the coffee table in the living room. His new world was so different. Thick carpet fibers under his boots threatened to offset his balance, and from time to time dust would try clinging to him. Sam brushed the dust off. He was growing used to that, at least. His new size came with so many other downfalls, he just ignored the small annoyances.
Close by, one of Jacob’s trucks was left on its own. The younger boy must have left it there before he had to leave with his mom. It wasn’t safe for Sam to come with them all the time, so he’d remained in the house.
Curious, he trailed a hand up the door to the truck. If it wasn’t thick plastic, Sam would be the right size to open the door and sit in the driver’s seat. He grinned a little at that thought, imagining himself driving around a truck through the house.
Aww, thanks so much! It’s really been a ton of fun creating and building up the universe we have rolling over here.
Sorry about the mix up with the asks, it happens to the best of us.
We’re not sure quite when the story will be posting, we still have to edit the first one, and then we let everyone vote in the stories to keep things fresh!
Stan has certainly graduated from brief side character to full fledged main character in the stories, much like Jacob, so expect to see him cropping up often! He and Dean have some of the most entertaining parts together in BC, and Sherlock’s been a bit of pout at how the little red wolf snuck his way in.
You can find questions like this in our FAQ (mobile-friendly version), and be sure to send in anything that you still want clarified afterwards!

When does (insert story) start posting?
We’re not sure when each story goes up, we only have a timeline for the days stuff will post. To prevent any stories from gaining favoritism over others, we started running a poll. During the last week or two of a story, there will be a poll with (2) to (6) options offered, and the winner will be the story that starts next!
Keep in mind that the stories that appear in the poll will be fully written/edited and beta’d by our wonderful beta readers, any stories that are incomplete in any fashion will not be included.
The poll is run through SurveyMonkey, and each person gets only (1) vote! Duplicate votes WILL BE REMOVED.
At 2 pm, the phone rang and Sherlock Holmes was the only one around to answer it.
Dr. John Watson had already left for his shift at a newly acquired job (evidently determined to make this one stick so they could “pay the damn rent”). Sam and Dean Winchester, the other flatmates standing at four inches tall at the most were hardly under obligation to answer the landline. That left the detective, who was too impatient to let it continue to ring any longer.
Jacob clenched his jaw before giving in and asking “Look, can you, uh, get me out of here? I can’t climb out myself.”
Sam turned his wary gaze to the source of the grumbling voice, and the sight of Jacob in a crib derailed his growing concerns. He walked over with a slowly growing smirk. Dean might come off as the snarky brother, but the truth was that they were evenly matched. Sam, having more patience than Dean, found it easier to hold back most days.
Today, with his head scrambled and his sleep interrupted, he had no intention of following through with that.
He put a hand on the edge of the crib. “I dunno. You think I outta kid-proof the room first? Someone might be looking out for you, putting you away like this.”
Jacob’s expression flattened and he pursed his lips. He almost couldn’t fault Sam for finding it funny. The joke was just lying there in wait. Staring up at the smirk that had so casually moved in on Sam’s face, Jacob had to roll his eyes even as his cheeks turned pink.
I’m thinking that because we’ve been more scattered in what we’ve written recently, and been unable to focus on just one story, we’ll mix up the excerpts instead of sticking to just one thing at a time.
Glad to hear! Truthfully, it’s been a very hard month for me, so I’ve been drawing out the excerpts since there’s not much happening otherwise. We have a bunch of in-progress stories with all the different characters, but nothing being written out at our normal speeds since there’s no time to write. I’m not sure if I should just post random excerpts from all the in progress stuff or see if any are getting longer than the others, so I just… buy time.
It’s a pretty cute story, not as full of spoilers as certain other stories. Jacob in Wonderland, I had over 40 chapters that anything from them would be considered a high level spoiler.
