Endersine asked:

I really like y’all’s work and it has really helped me when I am down. I plan on writing a story using an oc from one of my stories, but I have some questions. So would Celeste’s curse work on a sentient being that isn’t human? Like would the curse still work since they do have a soul, or would the curse itself need adjustments? Also if the person themselves had different forms, would those forms be affected to?

Oh, these are very fun questions, and I’ve actually spent a lot of time coming up with answers, both for myself and for the stories!

Celeste’s curse would absolutely work on a nonhuman, she could easily curse a monster from the supernatural world just as easily.

This was actually something they covered in Supernatural, well after I had come up with the curse and effects on a human caused by proximity to angelic Grace. So, some spoilers for the final few seasons of supernatural to follow:

Alternate universe Michael, while controlling Dean, used his own Grace to power up monsters with similar results that I had given my own borrowers.

The monsters were stronger and more resilient. Similarly, any of my characters that have Celeste’s curse are very resistant to other spells. There are certainly strong enough spells that can affect them, but it’s like they have a thick skin to magical attacks or enchantments.

If we’re using Celeste’s curse, I would say all of a person’s forms would be affected by it. They will be stronger than an uncursed person, but she was very particular about making it so they can’t return to human size without her stepping in. She needs her little experiments to stay hidden, especially from other angels who might interfere and stop her.

The curse is mostly put on children because they are much more pliable and will grow into that strength. Adults can absolutely be cursed, but it’s more of a drain on Celeste’s strength, and she’d need to rest for a bit to recover that Grace.

Destiel question (2)

ray7and13-blog-blog asked:

Do you think you’d ever be open to introducing Cas and if so do you ship Destiel?

I, personally, am a non-shipper, but I don’t mind anyone who wants to ship the characters in my stories with other characters!

As for Castiel, he actually already is in the stories!

If you check out Brothers Apart, Castiel appears in Brothers Apart 14: Bittersweet Parting. I don’t recommend reading it without catching up with the other stories, as it directly ties into the events that happen throughout the second season.

You can find a full list of the stories here if you needed the link.

Castiel will be seen more in Brothers Apart and a few other BA AUs, but he isn’t a majorly featured character, as these stories are focused more on the Winchesters. His part in the story is very important, but brief.

Folktales of the BA Borrowers/Littles

thepoisonlily  asked:

Do the Littles have any of their own fairytales or lore? I mean, I know that humans are basically their bogeyman (one that they know for a fact exists and they live in fear of), but is there anything else for them? Any myths or legends?

(This one took a little while!)

They generally don’t, but that’s more a part of their origin/upbringing than anything else.

  • Each borrower community is formed independent of the others, especially in different countries. Some may have their own beliefs, I will focus on the American and London borrowers that are a focus in the story.
  • The first borrowers were from a very religious town in past-England, and though they held onto their beliefs for a long time, their survival depended on a witch who was one of the last surviving bloodlines of the ancient druids. Without her they wouldn’t have survived, so their beliefs were replaced by a belief and trust in nature.
  • Many London borrowers are descended from that original borrower town, where they threw out their old beliefs.
  • American borrowers are fewer and further between, so they focus on survival above all else. There is no time for prayer between the tasks they carry out to keep on living.
  • The fact that they are no longer religious doesn’t mean they don’t believe in the supernatural. Most of them would take a supernatural being’s existence in stride, as they do all things.

They do have local legends and tales at times, depending on where they’re from. Sam and Dean would interview the borrowers much like humans (without Dean taking any part in it, since he would just scare them off).

There are many tales around one area with the borrowers who keep going missing from their homes after visits from a certain company

Pool Time

anonymous asked:

Now that summer is here, would BA Sam and Dean ever want to go swimming in a pool (with no one else there, of course)? I can imagine that’d be a bit scary for Sam but with Dean there it could be fun!

The moment Dean finds out that Sam can’t really swim (he hasn’t had a chance to practice since he was 10…), he’ll insist on starting small… like a sink. That way his little brother doesn’t go sinking to the bottom of the pool the second he gets in.

If they go swimming in a pool, they just have to make sure no one else is around to see the surprise borrower guest!

Size Difference in Relationships

anonymous asked:

hi I’ve been a big fan of yours ever since I read your stories while you were still in the midst of posting Taken though it’s been more on the stories side and it’s only recently I’ve started reading through everything here so I don’t know if you’ve answered this before, but would you ever write a story where a borrower and a human are in a relationship? could be platonic romance or whatever you feel like but I’m just wondering

It’s so good to hear from you! Good luck going through our tumblr– it’s gotten a bit messy, but there’s a looooooot of stuff here for future stories/snippets/sneak peeks, along with tons of musing and prompts/asks. And all the wonderful arts :3 Not to mention the asks we get in, which are tons of fun answering.

As for relationships. Admittedly, all three writers for the BA multiverse are ace, so we don’t often delve too far in. That said, there are a few relationships that will be shown prominently in the story, and at least one or two will happen with the two people at different sizes!

Stan and Nate are one of our major couples, and being soulmates, they always tend to find their way to each other in the end. Yet with a few storylines we have plotted out, they don’t start or end up at the same size all the time!

Nate’s not going to let a little thing like size keep him from stealing a kiss!

As for same-size relationships, Dean’s had a fling in Brothers Lost with a borrower he encountered on a hunt, and in the last season of Brothers Apart, Sam will also be finding himself some love!

There’s plenty to look forward to 😉

Catching up

Anonymous asked:

Oof so it’s been awhile since I’ve checked this blog, mind updating me on what stories are currently running? I need to know how much catching up I need to do

Hey, no worries! Life happens to us all!

I’ve actually made a few useful pages for this, in case anyone needs some updates or falls a little behind!

You can find a directory to all the stories and links to the different websites right over here – The Stories

That link gets updated when we start posting a new story, so it’s always up to date.

If you’re interested in where we are with future stories and how the writing is going, you can look at this page – Current Status of All AUs

It has a list of all our announced future stories, along with a link to a sneak peek of each!

As for what we’re currently posting, Brothers Consulted has its second story going up currently. A Burglary at Baker Street. After it is completed, there will be a brief hiatus, and then we’ll be putting up the next story in the Brothers Lost saga, There’s No Place Like Home!

Further sneak peeks can be found on our Sneak Peeks page, and let me know if you have any more questions! We love to hear back!

Burnouts

random-dragon-jtk asked:

I don’t know if this was asked but if a knack snaps could something jump start it?

They could, but anyone that tries this is going to need a lot of power. Like, archangel level power. Burnouts aren’t easy to heal because of the angel grace the knack draws power from, and if their ability to harness that power snaps, it’s going to need a lot of OOMPH to break back through.

Nixie might have enough power to manage it, she’s able to see the threads and could try and knit them back together proper, but it would be a very difficult healing compared to her normal work.

Reader messages

Not gonna lie, I’m the person that reads about the one time Sam got shoved into Dean’s pant pocket and my first thought is “I wish I could see that scene” 😂 All I can picture is Dean being flustered and Sam being grouchy…

Lol! That’s gotta be the most awkward position for those two to get caught in!

There’s actually a scene in Deanzilla vs Hydros, towards the later chapters, where this happens with regular sized Sam and his giant brother, so I definitely had inspiration for it!

thepoisonlily asked:

(Part 1 of 2) So, to preface, this is more of a passing comment than a prompt or ask since I know that life is crazy and inspiration comes and goes. I’m rereading Brothers Together and I had forgotten how many things are mentioned that I wished I could see what happened! I can’t get the thought out of my mind of what it must have been like for smol Sam to stitch Dean up after a hunt or what happened when Sam temporarily lost his hearing after being too close to Dean’s gun firing.

(Part 2 of 2) I especially keep imagining what it must have been like when Dean pretended to be drunk on the hunt while Sam was giving him directions on the phone. I have this theory that Dean was trying to see just how many ridiculous phrases he could say and still get away with his drunk persona… Basically, I love the multiverse you have created and I can’t wait to read more! 😍

@nightmares06

Aw thanks soooo much!

Those little story bits are always fun to have hanging around, just a tease to what their lives are like day-to-day! I might not be able to write everything out, but there’s always the chance someone else might get inspiration from them for their own story!

Sam is resigned to his giant, fake-drunk brother at this point, lol. He’s gotta keep an eye on that hunter so he doesn’t go getting himself in trouble!

Thank you so much for these messages!

Song Inspiration

anonymous asked:

If you could choose a song to represent the BA multiverse (besides the traditional supernatural ‘Carry on my wayward son’) what would it be?

Carry On Wayward Son is naturally, a classic for writing anything with Sam and Dean in it, but I definitely have my music that I use when I need inspiration!

There’s a few different songs I’ve used for scenes or stories, like Glad You Came for the end of Taken, when it’s all calm after everything has happened. Celeste has her own theme song in Painted Black, the version by Ciara (A+ song for getting evil, and highly recommended!).

Whenever I want to feel Sherlock-y, I did download the soundtrack to the first three seasons. Those songs are great!

I think one of the songs that helped shape the stories as they are is Jump On My Shoulders, by AWOLNATION. It’s a bouncy song, and not inherently g/t oriented, but I get definite g/t feels from the main line, Jump on my shoulders, and is probably what helped form Sam’s favorite place to stick with Dean. He’s not a fan of pockets, it’s shoulders all the way!

Plus, that song has a line about a man at the door, there to steal your soul, so it also has the Supernatural vibe I’m looking for.

One of my more recent songs is House of Memories, by Panic! At the Disco. It’s what inspired me to start writing some of the BA finale story, which will definitely be emotion-heavy if I get to complete it the way it’s planned out in my mind.

I just, need songs to write. Give me the music and emotions!

Jack Kline

shadowhunterhufflepuff asked:

Will Jack Kline show up in any of the stories?

He’s not going to show up in any of the BA stories, but he might always show up in a short story if I get inspired. I occasionally do off-the-wall stories like Walk Talland A Ghost from the Past that are set in the later seasons of Supernatural, so it’s never totally off the table.

And honestly, this bean is just such a cutie. I love when he’s in episodes. Wee nephilim baby, learning from those crazy hunters!

It’s just that Brothers Apart is a huge stretch from where Jack shows up in the series that I don’t really know how I’d make that come about, he’d have to be in a story not related to the early seasons the way BA is.
