Jacob wasn’t quite as young as poor Sam was when he shrank. He was 14 years old and already on his way to being tall, even if he wasn’t quite as tall as the then-20-year-old Sam that found him. Sam decided to take care of the kid right away, even giving up his dollhouse bed without even being asked. He knew how much it helped him with coming to terms with his new size, and he wanted to help Jacob with that, too (I know, they’re all such sweeties and really it’s deadly cute). At the time of Brothers Adopted, it’s been 3 years since Jacob was cursed.

How should posting work after Salt Lines has completed?
(since more options have come up since I asked yesterday)
Finish up Salt Lines and Lich at three posts a week, then switch to one story at a time. That story may be from any AU and will post three times a week. ( here )
Start another AU after Salt Lines and continue to have Brothers Apart update on Fridays.
Wait to do the AU’s until after Lich has completed. ( here )

Looking for input on when we start posting the AU’s!
Originally, we were going to start posting after Lich of Sense, since the Brothers Found series will include spoilers for that. Now, we’ve got two other series that don’t have any of that kind of spoilers.
So, send in your thoughts, or reply to this post (also weigh in on the poll found here). Should we wait until after A Lich of Sense has finished posting and perfect the stories we have in the works (ALoS is the longest BA story yet, just to warn you!) or should we start prepping them and begin posting after the Salt Lines fun has ended, including the shorts that come after the main story?
We are working on the stories that may come after BT. Originally, the plan was to wait until Lich finished posting, because of the way Brothers Found has spoilers for that story in it during the course of the series. That is the first AU that we wrote out, and we were experimenting with how our characters interacted and having a ball throwing them all together.
Brothers Adopted and Brothers Lost don’t have any spoilers in them, but we’re still in the progress of editing these. Brothers Together, at least for Hershey Kisses and Salt Lines, was more of a seat of your pants story that had minimal post editing. The other stories got a lot more development in them. Most likely, they’ll be completed or near completion, at least for the first stories in each of those by the end of BT. (Brothers Asunder has not been developed at this time past the initial idea, it will not be joining the stories as of yet)
So we’ll leave it up to our followers. Later on, we’ll run a poll asking if you guys want us to start posting after BT concludes, or wait the way we’d originally intended.
And then, to decide which AU goes first… you’ll vote on the stories and the winner goes up!
We don’t have an exact time line for when we will have smol Jacob’s premier just yet, but we’ve been considering moving up when we post the first of the AU’s we have under construction. We’re still working on editing, having them beta’d and actually writing them currently, but expect to see a poll soon for everyone’s input on how it’s done! And we’ll also have a poll to decide which AU is posted, though Brothers Found will not be included in the poll until after A Lich of Sense is concluded because of possible spoilers included in that series.

It’s been great fun seeing how Jacob gets along with the Winchester bros. Where those two are generally intense personalities with stubbornness for the ages, Jacob is a much more laid back kid (though he tends to be a bit cheeky when he’s smol! 😉 ). He brings all the chill when he’s dealing with the Winchesters, and sometimes that’s a very good thing. They need chill.
