Sam is not bothered by very large bugs (very large spiders is an entirely different thing – he’s very wary of the danger these represent), so he’d get a good laugh. If a butterfly crawled up his back, he might actually look like he has a large pair of fairy wings himself, and Dean would be hard-pressed to resist the temptation to pull out his phone and snap a picture of his fairy brother.

They would bicker forever about the results to that one, since perspective is such a bitch to figure out in that type of scenario. Good thing BA Sam already has solid proof he’s the tallest, and BT Dean went through all the trouble of figuring out a scale for his little brother so one day he’s going to measure Sam and discover his ‘little’ bro has inched his way up to taller than Dean.

The other Sams could use a way to strut their height compared to their older brothers.

One of their best methods of keeping him in place is usually planting themselves right on him, so he’s stuck in place unless he wants to pluck them up. Another way is trying to coax him into staying there with great use of the puppy eyes both Sam and Jacob have, extra potent when they’re so tiny and innocent. Reminding him that they don’t have anyone else who can drive the Impala if he gets himself worse is another way that might help.

Or they can call up Bobby, who can threaten to tie Dean in place if he so much as thinks of moving.

Dean will gripe, bitch, moan and whine his way through the entire week.

They’d be intrigued, but also very wary!

If Sam ran into the smaller brother first, they’d both be so confused by finding another person their size around. Then if the taller brother comes in, Dean might try his best to get between the little guys and the other kid, resulting in two humans bristling at each other while Sam and the little guy realized what was really going on.

“Hey, you know him?”

Confusion ensues while Sam talks Dean down from his overprotective side.

Character Profile: Celeste

Name: Celeste

Age: Unknown

Species: Witch/Archangel

Eye Color: Ice blue

Hair Color: Blonde/Brown depending on form

Gender: Currently female

Known Abilities: Hexes, curses. Able to manipulate her form if she needs a disguise. Feared by other witches for her willingness to go through with her threats, and her lack of morals. Telekinesis, as seen when she pins Dean effortlessly to the wall. Demons are often found in her vicinity.

Background: Very little is known of Celeste or her origins. Though John Winchester was able to track her victims over the course of the last few decades, before that there is no sign of her existence. She has plans for Sam and his older brother, and continues to haunt their footsteps, going so far as to summon fire sprites from the realm of Aeternum to bring the cursed brother to her, and working with Mina Chandler to outright buy Sam from the Mangas’ household.

Celeste is the primary antagonist of Brothers Apart and its respective AUs, but prefers to use puppets to do her dirty work, keeping the Winchesters in the dark. She is feared by the covens after having made examples of several members during her ‘experiments’ (as seen in Witchcraft).

One thing is certain: With her flair for the dramatic and the love of making a scene, she won’t remain in the background forever.

Quote: Do you know how many times this same story has played out? Sometimes John saves you, sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes that little thorn, Walt, interferes. Sometimes he doesn’t. But you know my favorite part? The fact that you two little dears just never figure me out. Bumbling around, saving people, hunting things. You can’t see past what’s right in front of your faces. You’re mine. And you always will be.

( This has indeed come up before so I copied the answer from this post to save myself the extra work )

Before Sam hit the road with Dean, their family lived with an outhouse. It was placed under the motel, as deep as they could go to where they were able to dig holes. This was also used by Walt to dispose of the remains of the rats he would kill and skin. When full they would cover up the hole and find a different place to dig.

Afterwards, it became easier. Sam can simply use the sink in the bathroom. He’s able to get himself around the entire motel room without any help, and he doesn’t have to worry about being grabbed if he’s out in the open. For his teeth he can snitch some toothpaste from Dean while he’s up there. There’s only been one time Dean almost walked in on Sam while he was using the sink, and the scolding Dean got sent him almost running.

@nightmares06 – Oo, tough choices, but I’d go with Sam’s situation. I like the adventurous side of the size shenanigans. Exploring in a huge world, going in the walls (possibly shitting my pants if I see any bugs or spiders), and a sibling to count on.

Also, giant food. Win win.

@neonthewrite – This one’s hard. I rarely imagine myself as the subject of a gt story. In the end, though, I’d feel way more comfortable if I had to be tiny rather than big. It’s easier to hide when I’m self conscious which is like 70 percent of the time.

I wouldn’t want to go it alone, though. I’d want someone I could trust around to help me out with the big ol’ world. And someone’s gotta pay for the giant food (yes I’m using the same argument, that’s the sign of a good argument).

@borrowedtimeandspace – I have to agree, being tiny is the way to go! It’s the main reason I got so into The Borrowers in the first place, imagining myself that small, picturing how big things would look at that size. Yeah bugs would suck, but if I’ve got a tol to lean on, I’d like to think I’d be alright.

Plus, I’d be so nervous around a friend who’s been downsized. I’d do my best to keep them safe, but I’d be on edge 24/7.

Admin note: Asks post once a day in the order they’re received unless they’re decided to be more urgent by an admin. If the answer hasn’t posted, it is likely waiting in the queue, sending in the ask again does not speed up how fast it’s answered.

@nightmares06 – Oh man. They’re both so fun. I guess it depends on what I’d want out of the experience.

If I want to learn about how to be a smol, Sam’s the way to go. He adapted to the lifestyle the best out of the pair. No one can find a way into the walls as fast as he can, he’s got climbing down to a science, and he knows when to keep out of sight.

But then again, if I want to just have an experience, Dean knows all the ways to get into trouble. To just casually strolling over Jacob’s newspaper like he owns the place to having a giant Sam bring him pie, Dean will live it up, and spends his time training for a fight.

Personally, I’d pick Dean, but both would be so much fun.

@neonthewrite – The bros are good choices for hangout buddies for sure. If it were me, though, I think I’d be unable to resist hanging out with little Oscar. That poor guy is very isolated and lonely, but he’s an introvert like me. There’d be no pressure on either of us to be super social with the whole thing.

I kind of owe the little guy a hug anyway. At the very least, since I’ve put him through so much. He’d have to come out of his shell just a little so I could help him find a jackpot of food! Skinny borrower needs some weight on his bones.

@borrowedtimeandspace – As much as I’d love to spend a day with either bitty bro, I have to go for my OC Zepheera. She’s much more of a badass than I am, she’ll keep me safe from the mean things lurking in the big old world. She’d take me places some other borrowers would be hesitant to, and I’d probably badger her for stories from decades before I was born, to learn how far borrowers have come in her lifetime.
