Character Profile: Celeste

Name: Celeste

Age: Unknown

Species: Witch/Archangel

Eye Color: Ice blue

Hair Color: Blonde/Brown depending on form

Gender: Currently female

Known Abilities: Hexes, curses. Able to manipulate her form if she needs a disguise. Feared by other witches for her willingness to go through with her threats, and her lack of morals. Telekinesis, as seen when she pins Dean effortlessly to the wall. Demons are often found in her vicinity.

Background: Very little is known of Celeste or her origins. Though John Winchester was able to track her victims over the course of the last few decades, before that there is no sign of her existence. She has plans for Sam and his older brother, and continues to haunt their footsteps, going so far as to summon fire sprites from the realm of Aeternum to bring the cursed brother to her, and working with Mina Chandler to outright buy Sam from the Mangas’ household.

Celeste is the primary antagonist of Brothers Apart and its respective AUs, but prefers to use puppets to do her dirty work, keeping the Winchesters in the dark. She is feared by the covens after having made examples of several members during her ‘experiments’ (as seen in Witchcraft).

One thing is certain: With her flair for the dramatic and the love of making a scene, she won’t remain in the background forever.

Quote: Do you know how many times this same story has played out? Sometimes John saves you, sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes that little thorn, Walt, interferes. Sometimes he doesn’t. But you know my favorite part? The fact that you two little dears just never figure me out. Bumbling around, saving people, hunting things. You can’t see past what’s right in front of your faces. You’re mine. And you always will be.

Celeste very rarely gives away her secrets, and often uses the promise of knowledge like that to taunt her victims. Sam still only has vague notions of why he himself was cursed, so it can be assumed she won’t be letting us in on that secret for a good long while.

So far the only knowledge we have of her in Brothers Adopted is her brief appearance in the short story Ice Cream.

More of Jacob’s past will be revealed in First Hunt, so stay tuned!

We don’t have an exact time line for when we will have smol Jacob’s premier just yet, but we’ve been considering moving up when we post the first of the AU’s we have under construction. We’re still working on editing, having them beta’d and actually writing them currently, but expect to see a poll soon for everyone’s input on how it’s done! And we’ll also have a poll to decide which AU is posted, though Brothers Found will not be included in the poll until after A Lich of Sense is concluded because of possible spoilers included in that series.

For anyone interested in finding more about Jacob in his canon storyline with Bowman Leafwing, check out Fairy Tales: Bowman of Wellwood.

It’s been great fun seeing how Jacob gets along with the Winchester bros. Where those two are generally intense personalities with stubbornness for the ages, Jacob is a much more laid back kid (though he tends to be a bit cheeky when he’s smol! 😉 ). He brings all the chill when he’s dealing with the Winchesters, and sometimes that’s a very good thing. They need chill.

Here’s some of Jacob, and the face claims that @neonthewrite picked out while developing him:

And, in the Brothers Adopted storyline, this is how Jacob looked right when he was cursed like Sammy. Dylan Sprayberry.

Kara

Appearing in Taken, Kara was a small girl standing two inches tall that lost her father, Christian, to a pair of abductors.

Even as Dean discovers Kara hiding in his room Sam finds her father when he wakes up in captivity. Christian is able to help set Sam’s broken arm to keep it from healing wrong.

They are two of the last three people their size that are living in their motel, with the last being wise old Mikael, who treats Kara as he would his own granddaughter. She’s so desperate to find her father again that she’s willing to be in the room of a giant, searching for clues after watching Sam get abducted. Her luck holds when she’s caught, with Dean treating her like a very small sister. They band together to find their missing family.
