Announcement

In line with there being a full-fledged story in development for the Dean Rescues Sam AU, I’m also renaming it Brothers Together after a friend suggested it. If you have any asks/prompts for the AU, feel free to submit them. They may possibly be incorporated into the story in development. Standard prompt rules apply.

Also, AO3’s story set up will be adjusted to have this as a separate series.

Prompts Open!

Hi everyone!

You might have noticed that I have recently posted a prompt on my page, and that comes with the news that prompts are open once more!

There are a few others I have that I drabbled out over the weekend that I’ll be posting. Expect a few fun little stories this week, and I’m curious to see what prompts roll in.

Please remember – I can’t write every prompt that comes along. I will do what I can with the ones I get, but there are some that are just outside my range of writing expertise. If yours isn’t answered, I’m sorry.

Rules:

  1. No harassment if your prompt goes unanswered. I write strictly for fun. I have a full time job and currently we’re in required overtime until the system issues are worked out, and understaffed (the main reason it took so long to reopen prompts)
  2. Be patient. Again, this blog is strictly for entertainment purposes. Anything I do here is done in my free time and I don’t get paid for it.
  3. Not all prompts may be answered to your liking. How I envision a scene may be different than how you envision a scene.
  4. If there is already a similar prompt, it’s unlikely I’ll write it out twice.

What I won’t write (sorry, I have to expand this a little so I don’t disappoint):

  1. Anything related to sex/sexual acts. Wincest. Destiel. I am asexual, these topics literally go over my head, and I don’t ship anything. I am incapable of understanding a lot of this, and I’m happy that way.
  2. Child whumpage.
  3. Dean injuring Sam (I don’t see Dean as clumsy, considering he’s an adept hunter, so I can’t write Dean as clumsy).
  4. Certain types of whumpage. I can’t do crush. There are others that I can’t do, but my mind won’t let me think of them right now.
  5. Stories that don’t fit into my universe. Everyone’s more than welcome to headcanons – I even love reading them!, but if I decide something goes against my story, it’s most likely not going to be written by me.
  6. Also, remember in the majority of my fics, Sam and Dean are independent adults.

I’m not trying to offend anyone, because all ways of interpreting things are valid! I just want to make sure that you know what I will do, and what I won’t do.

Asks are open and welcome as always. Submissions are open now as well, so if you have any fanart, even a cute little doodle, feel free to submit, or if you squiggled out a little drabble about tiny Sam and his big bro, I’d love to have it here!

Prompts may close at any time, please keep watch for any messages. If I receive a prompt while they are closed, it will not be answered regardless.

Sam’s Soda

BA Canon: Yes

Timeline: After The Golden Touch

Sam groaned, doubling over. His bottlecap shifted far enough on the pillow to tip, spilling the Coke all over the plush white surface. It spread out a dark stain.

Dean poked his head out of the bathroom, concern on his face at the quiet moaning. “Sam, is everything…”

He spotted the doubled-over form on the pillow. “Sam!” Dean was over at the bed in an instant.

Sam felt himself fall onto his back, thrown off balance from the sight of Dean growing so large, so fast. He blinked up at his older brother looming overhead for a few seconds before curling up again in pain.

It was so all-encompassing he didn’t even pay any mind to the two hands that cupped carefully around him, slowly edging under his body. Sam was lifted up into the air, finding himself level with concerned green eyes.

A finger brushed against his arms, trying to coax him out of his crumpled position. “Sam, did you drink the soda?”

“Uhhh… maybe. W…why?”

Dean’s eyes crinkled at the corners, and he moved his hand so Sam could lay flat. “I think maybe next time we should wait for it to go flat.”

Sam buried his face in the thick, soft skin underneath. He felt a burp come up, lessening the pressure in his middle.

“I think maybe you’re right.”

Sneak Peek!

Excerpt from Adventures at Bobby’s, arriving officially on October 30th

Heaving a sigh, Dean trudged back up the stairs to the house, intending to find Sam and let him know the good news. They might even be able to head off on the search for their next case as soon as tomorrow. There was a definite bounce in his step at that thought as he came into the kitchen.

“Sam!” Dean called out. He took a few steps in, spotting Bobby at the table buried under research for other hunters. “You seen Sam?”

Bobby frowned up at him as he finished paging through his latest tome. “Last I saw, him an’ Rumsfeld headed out to see you,” Bobby stated pointedly.

Dean felt a bit of worry start to trickle at the back of his mind. They’d come to see him? He’d never even seen Sam outside. “When was that?”

“ ‘Bout an hour ago,” Bobby said. He had to cut himself off as he grabbed a phone, switching to his FBI persona. “Willis, FBI…”

Dean left him on his own, going to search the house. Sam couldn’t have gone far. Neither of them had been outside when he’d finished up, so they must have gone back in with Dean unresponsive. He shook his head ruefully. Had he really been that intent on the car?

The worry started to blossom into an all out fear as his search of the house turned up nothing. “Sam!” he called out, pounding from room to room in one last sweep. There was no way Sam would miss his stomping around up there. There was still no response from brother or dog.

Dean practically flew past Bobby, who was still on the phone arguing with the local authority of some town or the other. He stumbled down the steps, glancing around the yard with a bit of panic starting to show in his expression.

“Sam!” he called out, practically praying at this point to see the dog perk his head up, Sam snickering nearby at Dean’s disquiet.

But there was nothing.

Dean expanded his search. He weaved his way around all of the junked cars that were piled up in the area. All he could see was the dangers out there for Sam. A car could shift position and crush the small hunter and he’d never find him… a hawk could dive down… raccoons could slip in from the fields…

SAM!

Legend of the Nix:

The magic of a water sprite is at its strongest within the pure freshwater streams. Because of this, in ancient times when a person who was dying sought healing summoned a sprite, legends began to circulate.

Nixie and her sisters must drown the victim, in order to heal them. This reflected poorly on the sprites, and their summoning began to happen rarer and rarer, until even the technique of summoning was lost. The legend of the Nix and Nixe spread, inspired by Nixie’s name. Nixie was one of the sprites that answered the call most often, helping where she could, at least until people grew afraid of her magic. It was this fear that caused the summoning of the sprites to cease and stories spread of men being dragged into the depths, never to be seen again.

He might not play out in the snow for hours on end, but there’s no reason he’d be unable to go out and enjoy it. After all, even small animals live out in the cold. Sam could even make himself a little igloo if he needed to find shelter for a night, with snow being a natural insulator. An hour or two out with big brother and he might be cold, but he probably wouldn’t even notice most of the time. The same way we don’t notice when we’re having fun how cold we are.

In the winter months, Sam will stick a lot closer to Dean than normal. His jacket’s very thin compared to anything Dean owns, so it doesn’t keep him warm. Not to mention, being so small, he doesn’t hold much body heat. So it’s a lot of time spent in the chest pocket. The side pockets don’t do any good keeping him warm unless Dean has his hands in them, and then it can be claustrophobic because Dean takes up all the room.

This doesn’t stop Sam from having fun in the snow. He always wanted to build his own snowman. He just has to watch out if he throws any snowballs at Dean. Dean might throw his own back. (And then have to dig Sam out from under all the snow)

Plus, sledding is awesome when you’re four inches tall. A pile of snow half Dean’s size makes a huge hill, and if he can convince Dean to help, he doesn’t have to trudge all the way back up.
