Lightly, Dean brushed the wet cloth over the kid’s face and hair, getting it out of his face so he could see if there were any pained flinches and scrubbing the grime off his cheeks with a careful touch. “This shouldn’t hurt a bit,” Dean explained softly, discarding the washcloth for later and extending a finger, touching the kid’s ribs to see if Sam might have squeezed too hard when he’d picked the guy up. Next to him, Sam watched intently while he unwrapped the bread and started to dig out a glob of peanut butter that was bigger than the tiny kid they’d discovered.
