December 24th excerpt:

“Hang on,” Sherlock warned Dean, giving him a second to brace himself before jumping up to catch the lowest rung of the escape stairs and drag them down to ground level.

“Holy–!”

Dean’s cry of surprise went unheeded in the swift motion as Sherlock jumped and snagged the ladder. The sensation of freefall was unwelcome for the smaller man, his fear of flying hitting him all at once when he felt himself become airborne as Sherlock dropped back down.

( Original Post )

Ahh, gotcha. @nightmares06 here now for the spn characters.

(Personally, I like teeny lil John Watson myself)

John is an adept mechanic, so those skills, even though he would be cursed as a child, would translate well to being smol, much like Dean. He might not have cars to repair, but he can work on anything he finds lying around, and repair things as well. He’d be a good scout, very talented at remaining hidden and out of sight if any humans come into the rooms. He’d need a weapon on him at all times for sure, and I can see him outfitting himself with a variety, unlike most smols. A needle in his belt, a razor in his jacket, a sharp shard of metal down the back of his pants. He needs to be ready to act at all times.

(For anyone that doesn’t know, John Winchester, though I love the character, is one of the hardest people for me to write, so you won’t see him smol in any of my stories. He is a background character for me.)

I actually have an easier time writing Rufus than John Winchester.

December 23rd excerpt:

John reached toward Dean and tapped the counter with his knuckle, just outside of reach of the smaller man’s reach.

Contrary to John’s hopes, the light rap against the countertop did not yield the desired results. After living over a decade in the walls, Dean was used to the feeling of vibrations or booming voices in his sleep, though normally sound was more muffled.

Dean shifted in place, rolling on his side with a brief “Quit it, Sammy,” thrown over his shoulder before settling back down.

I can’t say too much without giving storyline away, but Sam of Wellwood is its own standalone (ish) AU– as much as any of the BA multiverse is standalone– and Celeste has her own plans for these brothers that she sometimes lets me in on. This is one of the first stories where she started acting out on her own. She’s a little fed up with Sam and Dean.

One of the prizes this year will actually be a special sneak peek at the background of Celeste, and where she came from, so be sure to participate in the contest!

Character Profile: Mikael Foyer

image

Name: Mikael Foyer

Age: 62

Height: 5′11″ || 3.75″

Species: Borrowers/Littles

Eye Color: Gold

Hair Color: Grey

Gender: Male

Known Abilities: Keeps a steady head in trying times and very good at both calming Christian down and keeping Kara in check. He’s become a consistent part of their family in recent years to the point where Kara considers him “Uncle Mikael!.”

Very adept with first aid, helped Sam with his broken arm.

Background: After losing his wife to a rat, he took to staying with Christian and Kara to help care for things. Both he and Christian lost their wives, Christian years ago and Mikael very recently. Things begin to go smoother for them when he starts living with them, at least until he’s taken by the humans first.

December 22nd excerpt:

“Sit still and get better,” Moira snipped at him, quickly making the cup and scooping water into it. “You’re not doing yourself any favors by pushing it.”

“Thanks, mom,” Dean said tartly. “Who’s the oldest here again?”

“That’d be me,” John pointed out, easily drawing attention to himself. He was steadily learning how to control his voice around the smaller folk, especially at close proximity. However, John supposed he couldn’t prevent himself from being an overwhelming presence to them even at his quietest.

With a shrug, John went on. “And as a doctor, I have to agree with Moira. You need rest. And eat up, you’re gonna have to replenish your iron and vitamins to get your strength back.”

Dean gave John a flat glare. “You two,” he griped, pointing first at Moira then at John, “are not supposed to be on the same side!”

@borrowedtimeandspace – (Assuming we’re talking about Watson)

Whether he was cursed as a child or born smol,
John would make the best of the hand he’s dealt. His size wouldn’t stop him
from learning how to help others his size, becoming as close to a doctor as he
can manage to be without training, and generally being a little badass. And he certainly wouldn’t take kindly to any giants who mess with those he loves.

Maybe I’m biased because of The Hobbit,
but I imagine borrower John wielding a sharpened half-scissor broken off of a
swiss army knife x3

Character Profile: Christian Bolt

image

Name: Christian Bolt

Age: 34

Height: 5′6″ || 3.5″

Species: Borrowers/Littles

Eye Color: Grey

Hair Color: Brown, unkempt

Gender: Male

Known Abilities: Somehow trying to keep up with Kara, who insists on making friends with any humans she can. Try not to startle him. He’s a nervous wreck.

Background: After losing his wife to humans years back, and Mikael’s wife to a rat, Christian was afraid to leave his young daughter Kara alone at home. With the humans taking people like him and Mikael away from the motel, the insects began to encroach on their homes, leaving it a dangerous place for a little girl to be without her father. All of this was rendered moot when Christian was captured, leaving Kara on her own anyway.
