So not sure if someone ask this ,but is it possible a Little (or Borrower) would have the ability to create illusion?
Sort of like Zoroark from Pokemon ( if ur familiar of the franchise or that Pokemon)

You’re the first one to bring it up!

A borrower definitely could, but their ability would be more a mental manipulation on the person they’re making see that illusion. Actual creation of an illusion like that would be a strain on the borrower, though some of the stronger ones could pull it off with a lot of practice. Even then, it’ll end up being easy to see through if a person knows where to look, or if they put their hand through it.

Since AU Lounge was brought back into the spotlight, D&D session! With maybe Gabriel adding an extra twist by providing everyone with the proper costumes and props and a setting the smols can actually explore and fight in. Also Oscar and teddy Jacob as their local gnomes and giant Jacob as the dragon

It’s immersive D&D! Why pretend to be a dragon when you can be a dragon?!

Dean would be a knight in shining armor, with the Impala as his steed. You can’t ask for a more faithful steed than her, though instead of a horse I’ve always been fond of stories where the Impala is a black-and-chrome dragon!

Sam would certainly be a sorcerer or a wizard, always with a book of spells at his side to sling back at people.

As for the Baker street crew, John Watson has aspects of both a fighter and a cleric in him. Kicking ass and healing his party-mates.

Sherlock is hands down a bard. Don’t think he won’t strut out in a skirmish and violin the crap out of his opponent. Vicious Mockery is his go-to.

Then there’s Stan Baker as a ranger, the friendliest recluse you’ll meet. Don’t be fooled though, he and his animal companion Juno will mess their enemies up.

We need Jacob as a paladin, there to protect everyone and fight when it’s necessary.

Bowman could be a Scout/rogue, keeping an eye out for danger for the rest.

And Oscar would be a bard along with Sherlock, albeit a much friendlier one. Whenever Sherlock uses Vicious Mockery, you can bet there’s a shocked Oscar somewhere behind him wishing he wasn’t so mean!

Can the knack of phasing through inanimate/non living matter (with the limitations of it being only working for the “personal sphere of identity”, under a certain thickness and only while holding your breath) possible by your storyverse rules?

It would be very limited, but very possible!

They wouldn’t be able to pass through thick surfaces, or a surface with stronger bonds (wood is easier than steel, for instance). Paper would be the easiest, and accidentally phasing through a trap a human set for them might be how they first discover this.

What would spritly Sam’s and Walt’s first meeting be like? Or any other borrower?

Spritely Sam would be fascinated to hear about the borrowers!

People just like him that live close to the humans? It’s like wraith sprites, only these would be his people without the quills! Sam would have so many questions– How do they survive, where do they get the supplies from, how have they gone unnoticed for this long???

Walt would be scratching his head, especially when he finds out that this kid grew up in the sunlight, out in the forest. It sounds so unprotected! So… open. His back itches to think about no ceiling over his head.

Also, Sam would have terrible nightvision, so he’d end up quite lost in the walls if Walt was showing him around.

I loved the Bowman reacting to human music short! But what’s sprite’s music like? Do they use any kinds or instruments? What’s the closest type of human music to sprite music? And also – after discovering the human music, did Bowman decide yet how he feels towards it? (last one, couldn’t get this out of my head for quite some time now) would Bowman like the song “here comes the sun” ? What would be his favorite song?

A previous ask (sorry it took so long!)

After Jacob showed Bowman some human music, are there songs that Bowman especially likes? What’s his type of music? Or favorite song? Is it “here comes the sun”?

Wood sprites, at least, have a couple instruments they prefer. They can make a sort of tambourine out of leaves wrapped around thin sticks, with seeds to add a rattling effect (or they could go simple and just make a drum). They can also make grass whistles and simple flutes, if they feel like praying them into shape; it’s delicate work to make a flute and not every sprite has the patience (Bowman, for example, has No Chill whatsoever).

With those instruments in mind, folk music would probably suit them the best. It’s also unusual for Wellwood sprites to have any lyrics to their music – they make up the songs as they go, and usually it just includes humming or plain vocalizing to mimic the wordless sounds of the woods around them.

Bowman is bemused by the lyrics and by the sounds of human music. A lot of it is made with instruments no one’s ever tried in Wellwood, or at least hasn’t in a long time. Stringed instruments would be his favorite “human music”, though Jacob probably didn’t try to explain to him how varied the sound of those can be. The sound of a plucked cello or violin are very pleasing to his ears. The guitar in Here Comes the Sun would be pretty fun for him, while the lyrics would bemuse him as much as any others.

Where can you find the middle parts of the shrinking Stan shorts, so far I’ve only found 1(discovery) and 2(catch)… And is it part of brothers chosen?

@borrowedtimeandspace – It is definitely not a part of Brothers Chosen, that much I can say for certain.

Those shorts are a part of a series of prompts that I’ve challenged myself to write. The trouble is real life gets in the way, so I’ve been a little slow catching up. I do plan to write more of them pertaining to the shrinking Stan shorts, and eventually expand them into a proper story. This is sort of my way of making a jumping-off point for myself without feeling pressured to sit down and crank out a bunch of full chapters while I’m also trying to keep up with assignments for school.

More will be coming soon, I promise ❤

I really really loved the A Little Change (the Bowman and Jacob size swap) and was wandering if you’re going to continue it? ^o^

@neonthewrite

I love that AU a lot, too! And I definitely plan to continue it and other stories like Chase In Lilliput. The explanation for why some of my projects slowed down this year can be found in this post. Now that my writing challenge is done, I plan to get back to some of those fun projects at last!

Did Sam (of wellwood) ever get a sunburn? I need to know what’s the reaction of the sprites

Concern, first. They don’t really know what to expect from such a pale person, considering no wood sprite is quite as light-skinned as little Sam. When he turns pink/red, they might worry he’s sick until he explains it to them, and even then they’ll fret. The sun is supposed to give life, not burn them! That said, they could get burned themselves if they’re not careful, it’s just not as easy for them. So they’d know some herbal remedies to soothe him if necessary.

So wait I’ve heard so much about Stan, but are there any stories with him currently out? I can’t seem to find them…

Welp, he is in one of our finished stories, but it hasn’t gotten its chance to post yet!

Stan was first dreamed up in A Burglary at Baker Street, when Dean and Sherlock needed a bit of assistance from a government agent, and he just took off so much right then that he’s become an integral part of the stories written in the Sherlock side of the BA universe!

As it remains, he won’t get his deserved screentime until Burglary is voted in, though we’ll likely work on editing the Chosen stories as well soon.

If you ever want to see more on him, check out the #Agent Stan Baker tag for the human Stan, and the #borrower Stan tag for his smaller self!
