August 16th excerpt:
“Dude, I don’t … want to be here,” Jacob pointed out, stuck at a crossroads between nervous and defiant. “Let me leave!”
Sam arched an eyebrow. “You don’t?” he asked, a playful grin on his face. He leaned forward and nudged Jacob in the side to get a reaction. “Well, once I get some answers, we can revisit whether you stay. For now, you’re sticking close to me. Where I can see you.” The sparkle in his eyes challenged Jacob to defy him.
Smol Jacob will definitely meet his winged bestie in the future, even if they don’t know they’re destined to be buddies at the time!
“Hey,” Sam said softly, keeping his voice down to avoid waking either of the humans sleeping close by. He crept forward, getting close enough for Bowman to see them clearly in the light of the dying flames and held out his hands. It was a gesture he’d seen Dean do many times before, to prove he meant no harm.
It wouldn’t work for the hunter in this situation, with his hands alone a threat to the small sprite, but for Sam it should suffice.
“My name’s Sam, and this is my brother Jacob,” he introduced. “We were hoping to talk to you.”
Jacob nodded in agreement. “Just a talk. No humans listening in. Sound alright?”
Bowman stared between them as he contemplated. Finally, his wings relaxed and stopped crowding the glass walls around him. His shoulders slumped and his exhaustion from a stressful day became more obvious. “You … you two live in that one’s pocket,” he said, gesturing at Dean. “Why would you wanna stay in there?”
and the story continues more or less like it does in the show (except from the fact that Sam is the only one who knows about the existence of smolls). And then when Jacob comes to Trial’s West he gets cursed just like in Brothers Adopted /Brothers Remembered, only that this time he’s adopted by Walt and Mallory Watch and doesn’t have neither of the Winchester brothers as big brothers to help him adjust and all. And after some point, the brothers—{{{part 2}}}
And after some point, the brothers stumble over Trial’s West for a case or something, and while Sam goes out to grab some food and Dean stays to do research, Jacob and Walt were out in the room looking for supplies and Jacob gets caught by Dean. Sam gets back only to find Dean interrogating a smoll and manages to convince Dean to let him go. It would be interesting to have the two big Winchesters with a smoll Jacob and see how different it is from—{{{part 3}}}

We did have a few ideas about a smol Jacob and the bros, though in a different story setup compared to this one. Feel free to write it out, or if anyone else is feeling inspired! We love seeing what you guys come up with, and Sam and Dean + smols is a good time.

We do also have Brothers United, which is an AU with Sam and Dean regular sized and running into Oscar. They start out as all children in this story, so they meet earlier on compared to the other times.

August 14th excerpt:
Jacob grasped the strap of his bag to keep it steady as he took another step back. The strange mechanical whine of the computer screen barely warned him before it lit up and his attention was drawn there instead. Lights on the panel glowed, and from this close he could hardly recognize what this cinema-sized thing was supposed to be.
“Uh. Looks like you have work to do. I should get out of your way,” he suggested, taking one more shuffling step away from the laptop that he guessed would soon be the center of Sam’s attention.
Dean has this… bad habit in Brothers Divided… where he tries to ‘adopt’ smols that don’t want to be adopted…
Jacob might end up with a pocketmate.
One who’s especially squeaky and timid, and honestly? Jacob would kind of understand why Dean got the urge to protect the little guy. Oscar has a very Adopt Me kind of aura and very few people are immune to it. Dean doesn’t stand any more chance of resisting than Oscar does of avoiding the pocket.

Jacob would be the most surprised about it, I bet. Butterflies usually avoid humans (or anything really), so to have one land on him would catch him off guard. He might balk and then freeze, all crosseyed, and Bowman would have to look back and see why his giant went silent. Of course, he’d have a laugh about the way he looked with a butterfly chilling on his face.
Rischa would be especially proud of Jacob for being calm enough for the butterfly to trust him. She’s pretty fond of those fluttery friends.

Absolutely! Jacob is one of three musketeers, more or less. He will have to see his buddies, no matter how big they are to him. I have a little sneak peek of the first time he saw Chase after being shrunk down.
“Hey, Mrs. Andris,” a voice greeted somewhere in the house. From a distance, it almost sounded normal. Jacob watched the archway with a fluttering heart as his mother greeted Chase in turn.
More footsteps. Jacob stood up as straight as he could, and the room loomed all around him. As they approached, his mother’s voice, so much bigger than it used to be, explained the plan for the night. “Jacob’s just in here. You two can hang out, catch up and all … I already ordered some food for later so we can all have some dinner. Just remember to keep your voice down.”
Jacob’s face blushed fire as the last comment came out, but soon he could only focus on the two giant figures that appeared in the archway. His mom and Chase both were not especially tall people. Chase was holding steady at five foot three, and his mom was around the same.
Jacob shuddered despite knowing he could trust both of them. As soon as their eyes were on him, he was spotted by giants.
Chase Lisong, a Chinese boy with a charismatic demeanor and a constant Cheshire-Cat attitude, grinned as soon as he saw Jacob standing on the table. “Hey, dude, long time no see!” he greeted, stepping right up to the table. Jacob had to tilt his head back as Chase came closer, and then he had to brace himself as the much larger person pulled out a chair and sat down, sending an earthquake under his shoes.
People were so much faster than Jacob now. He couldn’t hope to keep up.
But at least his friend had given him a normal greeting. Out of all the shit-talking Jacob expected, Chase acted like nothing was different.
Yes, absolutely! Sam and Dean had a hard time imagining the giant would be scared of them!
To be fair, they’re very scary hunters.

The story involved is certainly a convoluted one, but fear not! There will be interactions with regular-sized people for our poor smol Dean! There’s just too much material for our poor hunters, so size shenanigans will be happening to them (in multiple AUs…)

For a moment, the importance of Jacob opening his car didn’t occur to Dean. Then, he remembered what he had in his pocket and he gave Sam and Jacob a flat look, pulling out his keys.
“Really?” Dean asked as he jingled them. “You… broke… into… my car.”
Sam affected an innocent look. “It’s my car, too!” he said, his hands up in surrender. “I just… got Jacob in using the panic room. And you’re the one that taught me how to hotwire!”
“I didn’t mean hotwire the Impala! ”
I’m seeing this as a distant Yes…
Jacob will definitely be meeting the littlest borrower!
And you just know he will flop over for her. She’s so small and he’s so not. He’d be so careful with her, the truest teddy.
