I’m guessing BFTP is basically Brothers Adopted, but with Dean tiny instead of Sam?

You got it!

Brothers Remembered has Sam and Dean separated in childhood, Dean barely managing to push his younger brother out of the way in time to avert the curse, but get caught in the blast himself. When, years later, another kid gets snapped up, what’s Dean to do but take him in and teach him to survive?

Since Dean is an adult when he finds Jacob, he takes him to his shelter and nurses him back to health, and helps the kid adjust when he wakes up. They occasionally talk to Walt and Mallory, but by and large Dean and Jacob are independent of the others.

Naturally, shenanigans happen when Sam stays overnight, suspecting none of this.

There was some keys tossed on the nightstand, and a shadow that passed by the vent, its owner out of sight. Dean’s eyes tracked the hulking shadow, enough to eclipse him and everyone he knew at the motel without a problem.

Then, the shadow’s owner came into view and Dean had to restrain himself from leaping back.

This human was big.

The guy might be the biggest person Dean had ever seen. Standing so tall that the vent was only a few scant feet above his head, his hair was longer and fluffed out at the sides, showing signs that he’d just gotten in and had no time to recover from his drive.

A classic road tripper, if a little young. Dean had an urge to cut that long, floppy hair that he couldn’t explain.

The human never noticed him up there, perched above the vent, but that was enough for Dean. He didn’t want to mess with a person that big, tired from driving or not. Whatever supplies this guy had, he could keep. Dean would run through the room after he checked out of the motel for good.

Hitching up his duffel, Dean turned toward home and left that room behind.

Out of curiosity, will you be adding chapters to some of your other series like Brothers Adopted or Brothers Asunder? If so, do you have any idea if that will be in the near future? (Honestly, I’m absolutely feeling starved to know more about these stories.) Also, I know you have something similar in Prompts, but would you be willing to have more story with Sam finding Dean as the borrower? Would a Brother Found situation even be possible with Jacob helping Dean find Sam? Thanks for the stories!

You betcha!

There’s plenty more planned in these stories. Brothers Adopted we still need to write out, but Brothers Asunder already has several stories composed and waiting to post. Asunder will continue as soon as it wins the poll with Dean of Nowhere, the follow-up to Sam of Wellwood. And what an adventure it will be!

( @bittykimmy is still mad at us for that story, btw )

As for the rest, we already have this planned out 😉

Sam winced, but didn’t have time to mull it over before the second, newer person whirled around and focused on him.

“And you!

The tone of voice was forceful enough to make Sam wince. It almost reminded him of getting scolded in class, or maybe–

He pushed the second image out of his mind. This guy was nothing like his father when he harped on a subject. John Winchester had a strong presence about him, so Sam couldn’t figure out why this person who stood barely a fingerlength tall might remind him of him.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing, catching a kid? ” Dean practically spat out. “He’s not bothering anyone!”

AFIN – A Friend In Need

You will go down as the best name-guesser for the story acronyms! (Other sneak peeks on the way during the week from the rest of the guesses we got)

AFIN is indeed A Friend in Need, but since this is a completely new AU, before we give the full sneak peek, can anyone guess what’s going on in the story? Because this is different than what we’ve tried before, and we’re excited to hear what everyone thinks!

Dean was small. Insignificant. Nothing, a voice whispered in his mind.

A shock ran through Dean and he drew back from the fingertip like the glass had burned him, quickly pulling his sleeve down over his hand and trying to scrub away the scratches like the leather could possibly fix the mess he’d made.

Torchmlp: Birth of a Nightmare?

Guess from the Brothers Apart discord! Feel free to join the conversation!

@torchmlp got the name on the mark! Birth of a Nightmare is #boan, and it’s coming sooner than everyone expects with the season 3 finale! The origins of the witch!

Her life’s blood slowly dropped from the wounds, a puddle gathering beneath the planks.

“Please,” she rasped, her clear blue eyes looking towards her husband.

Her betrayer.

She swallowed, her throat as dry as a parchment found in the Egyptian tombs. “Please. I have done none of these things. I am innocent.”

A cold wind whipped up, tangling her pristine white robe around her legs. Bloodstains blossomed like flowers where the white came in contact with her ankles.

“She is not!” shouted her former lover. The man she’d thought soulbound to her much like she was to him. A bond that left nothing behind in her chest when it shattered, destroying all she’d ever thought important.

The Heart of a Wolf

Guess from the Brothers Apart discord! Feel free to join the conversation!

And another guess that comes right from the Brothers Apart chatroom! Dean might be the size of a mouse, but he has The Heart of a Wolf!

“What do you want?” Sherlock sighed. The last time the agent had set foot in Baker Street, he’d somehow gotten himself enrolled in a bizarre training with Dean.

Still, even Sherlock had to admit (at least to himself, and certainly not out loud) that he had the makings of an acceptable ally.

With their recent addition of Detective-Inspector Greg Lestrade to the list of people who knew about Sam and Dean, Sherlock was beginning to resign himself to this pattern.

Oh, er. Well, I was mostly wondering if Dean would be up for another training session.”

“I don’t see why not.” Sherlock’s blunt reply was strictly derived from Dean’s previous encounters with Agent Baker. They were quite easygoing with one another, the agent mindful of his movements around Dean, who was seemingly unafraid to tell it like it was to anyone no matter how tall. Objections to the opportunity to refine Agent Baker’s skills were likely to be rare, if existent.

Brilliant! ” After a slight pause, Agent Baker began a hesitant question. “Do you, ah, think he’ll mind–?

Sherlock rolled his eyes with a disinterested noise and hung up the phone on the spot.

TTOL: The Trials of Logan

A+ guess on the name! You got it on the first try.

No one needs trials like this more than our favorite little punching bag, Logan Guthrie, antagonist of Bowman of Wellwood. An all-around unpleasant man.

Bobby looked away from Dean and Logan, turning a blind eye to whatever they did. “Want some help getting that blood out?” he offered Sam, sizing up the splotch and the dark spot around it from Rumsfeld’s saliva.

Sam glanced at it. “Sure. I’m kind of running low on jackets, anyway. We don’t exactly have a supply of them…”

“I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve,” Bobby assured the kid as he held out his hand. Once Sam was with him, they left the kitchen with Rumsfeld close behind, leaving the other pair to their own devices.

Dean stared at the jar in his hand with an assessing gaze, looking over the man inside. From their last encounter, time had not been kind on Logan. His clothing was showing wear and his hair was a mess. A trip to the barber wouldn’t be out of the question, either.

By contrast, even directly after a hunt, Dean’s hair was spiked and his jacket in pristine condition. His jeans were ripped by his thigh, and his boots had some dirt caked to the bottom. Despite a few frays, it was a far cry from Logan’s tattered appearance.

“I think we can do better than that,” Dean said dryly, flipping the jar upside down.

Brothers Grounded can have Jacob take them to Wellswood!

They’re on their way!

“We should scout the area before it gets dark,” Dean said, getting up and stretching. “Make sure we find a safe home for the night.”

“Right,” Jacob muttered, a more subdued smile on his face. Regardless of how much trust he’d managed to bargain for himself, the two of them would need some space to themselves. Fascinated or not, he couldn’t deny them that.

“Just keep yourselves outta trouble,” he joked, reaching out to nudge Dean in the side before he was done stretching. As before, he drew his hand back quickly to avoid the retribution that he was sure the little guy would offer. “Gotta be ready for a bit of a hike tomorrow.”

Dean recoiled in surprise, his face falling into a flat expression at the playful gesture. He threw up his arms in frustration at how quick the teenager could move, faster than he could react to. “Well unless the village is a few feet in, I think you’ll be doin’ most of the hikin’, Godzilla,” he retorted in annoyance, his Midwestern drawl thickening.

Sam tried to hide a snicker behind a hand, entertained by the innocent interactions between the pair. He hadn’t been bored once since they met Jacob. “So how far in the forest is the village, anyway?” he asked.

Apias: A Port in A Storm? This is my first time guessing. I am loving the stories, even if I have the wrong title.

First time and you got it! The name is officially Any Port in a Storm, and these brothers certainly need a port to huddle in, considering the circumstances John finds them in!

When the snow started to come down, he knew they were really in trouble.

Dean glanced to the side, his gaze softening. Sam was slumped against his side, exhausted and weary. They had run for most of the day, leaving the younger kid drained and unable to keep up with his older brother for long. Dean had tried giving Sam a piggyback for a bit, but he tired as well within the hour.

We’ll just stop for a bit… get your energy back up and then we’ll find someplace safe and warm, okay?

There wasn’t much choice for them to stop. Sam couldn’t keep up, Dean couldn’t carry him, and he’d never leave his little brother behind. He’d found a bit of cover against a wall, staring at the deserted street beyond.

Occasionally, they’d pass by, and Dean could only hope that no one noticed the pair of tiny children seeking refuge.

Their escape, it seemed, came with a cost, and he didn’t know if they could last the night.

I’m feeling a little concerned for Stan in the current excerpts. Not that I think the bros are gonna hurt him! But Dean is drunk, and I don’t know what Stan’s past experiences with drunk humans sums up to. Maybe he’s had none, in which case, great, but if the witch used to get drunk sometimes, I imagine that Stan has every reason to feel uneasy around a drunk human. At least Sam’s also there to make sure Dean doesn’t go overboard.

Good job picking up on that! And Stan, indeed, is not completely okay with having a drunk giant around. He’s at least Irish in his background, so drinking itself would come more naturally to him, but it’s not something he’s done as a borrower (very unlike his human counterpart in BC)…

Once the aftershocks subsided, Stan looked up to find Dean almost completely filling his vision, looking at him expectantly as the borrower realized he’d been asked a question.

“Oh, u-uh… I dunno, it was… on,” said Stan between heavy breaths. He wasn’t exactly afraid, more flummoxed than anything. He recognized the smell on Dean’s breath as the gusts wafted toward Stan’s seat. Once in a while the witch would come home in a particularly foul mood with similar smells radiating off him, and those nights were absolutely no fun for Stan; any little thing could set Nicholas off, and there was only one tiny person he could take it all out on.

Is there another sneak peek for brothers united?

We’ve actually paused on writing that story just like Brothers Discovered, and ended up working on a bit more angsty stories while work was stressful, but we can spare ya a peek!

The cry of fear from in Sam’s hands galvanized him into action, and he squirmed away from Dean’s reaching hand. “No!” he cried out, protesting his older brother’s grab. He twisted out of reach, keeping his hands shut tight around the kid. “You’ll hurt him! I promised!”

There was a moment of silence, and Sam looked over his shoulder to see Dean frozen. “Sam,” Dean said slowly, his eyebrows pinching in concern. “What do you have in your hands?”

“Promise not to grab?” Sam asked, sticking his lip out stubbornly.

“Promise, shorty,” Dean held up his hands and wiggled his fingers. “But I need to know what you have. No secrets.”

Sam sighed, and shifted onto his knees. “He’s real scared,” he explained, cracking his hands open slowly. “You gotta be careful.

Dean blinked in surprise at the ‘he,’ then leaned forward as Sam’s hands opened to reveal the world’s tiniest kid. “Sonovabit–

“Dean!”

The scold cut Dean off, and all he could do was close his mouth and stare, for once rendered speechless.

Oscar was speechless too, though he felt like his heart had to be pounding loud enough for them to hear it. His ears throbbed after their short bickering, and his hands were clamped over the sides of his head. Somehow, he’d managed to stay curled up even when Sam moved around and jerked him away from Dean.

Now, though, he trembled so much it was amazing he could keep any position. Loud voices, huge hands, huge eyes, the sensations all swirled around him in a confusing whirlpool

He hiccupped and scrubbed at his eyes with the back of a hand. More tears replaced what he’d wiped away, and he kept the hand in front of his face to hide the only way he could.

“Dude, where’d you even find him?” Dean shot at Sam, rapid fire.
