I’ve got a few other blogs I follow, both Supernatural and gt or both! I don’t think any of them are exactly like mine, but they are enjoyable. (If I could draw my blog might be different, lol)

For blogs where you can find both Supernatural and gt, I recommend @ask-tinycas and @ask-tinysam. Both have some wonderful artwork on their sites, if you look back in time. Due to real life obligations, they tend to be slower blogs, but I know whenever I see a post from either, I get excited! (the tiny Cas blog is Destiel oriented, for any non-shippers, but it is absolutely adorable, so don’t let that put you off from some great artwork and storytelling)

For just gt, check out @borrowedtimeandspace! There’s a good deal of fun Doctor Who gt going on over there. @neonthewrite is another fun gt-oriented blog, and you’ll find prompts that feature characters you’ll recognize from my stories – namely, Jacob, Bowman, Oscar and the gang! And you can send in prompts of your own. Another similar blog, @alittleblogoftrust is also great for gt fun from one of our wonderful editors @creatorofuniverses, along with @neonthebright herself!

For just Supernatural, I highly recommend @asksamstuff. The blog has a ton of great story and artwork on it, and the girl that runs it did the amazing picture of Ilyana and Sam for me!

We are just as excite for it! Have a snippet to read ^-^

“I’m near the village, yeah. I’m guessing I’ll have to get over there before Bowman freaks out about squirrels or something but … well I probably won’t miss your arrival.”

“You know me,” Dean quipped lightly. “I’m just the life of the party. You know you can’t wait to see me arrive.” Despite his words, he couldn’t help but worry as well, a fact he was trying to keep hidden. Unlike Bowman, Jacob had no wings to use to escape any animals out there. And unlike Sam, he wasn’t used to being small. At least Sam could put his expert climbing skills to use finding hand- and footholds to scramble up a tree if he had to. Dean doubted Jacob would fare any better than Dean himself at that type of venture.

“You get yourself to safety, alright? We need our hunting buddies all in one piece, downsized or not. That’s what’s important here.” He moved on to packing up Sam’s belongings, a small bed and desk Bobby had found for them after discovering the small Winchester was still alive. In fact, it had been Bobby’s gentle prodding that had galvanized Dean into building a Sam-sized panic room under the seat of the Impala, so there was a safe haven for Sam and Bowman if they ever needed it. There was a variety of threats out there for guys their size, and Dean was determined to give his brother every advantage he could provide.

“Yeah, I’ll… I’ll do that,” Jacob answered uncertainly. He glanced over at the stream. There were supposedly stepping stones for the flightless sprites to cross the stream safely, but he couldn’t imagine them being easy. The sprites grew up with wings and judged their entire sense of balance on them. Jacob didn’t have that kind of advantage.

If this is a party, then where’s the beer?

Sam would certainly be interested in these videos. He could watch them to learn new tricks, and find things to try around the motel room. Depending on the skill level of the people on the video, he might find it tame compared to what he considers normal and everyday acts. Dean would be wide-eyed at the thought of any of this being considered tame.

Bowman, by contrast, would be plain amazed at these feats. Wood sprites definitely don’t climb often, since they have wings to get everywhere, so some of the parkour tricks out there would be very impressive indeed. He can do aerial acrobatics, but as we’ve seen in Lich, even climbing out of a pocket is tough for Bowman.

(Sassy, when this one came in, nightmares saw it first and sent me a message telling me I’d like these questions. And I do. These are the best questions.)

The answer is YES. It’s one of the skills that is so fun to consider with my little babies.

They can feel changes in the air pressure, sometimes even to the point of knowing the weather is shifting. Bowman Leafwing happens to be one of the best wood sprites out there who can utilize that acute sense to the fullest. It happens once in his canon story, Bowman of Wellwood, though I haven’t found many opportunities to slip it into the AU stuff yet that I recall. Bowman, if he’s concentrating, can feel the shifts in the air around a hand grabbing at him, and he can use those shifts to duck around a grab and avoid getting caught; it’s a tough trick considering how fast humans are, but he’s done it before.

And yes, that skill is also used for dodging around things and avoiding crashes, especially for the daring ones that fly in the dark. Bowman’s uncle, Larxe Maelstrom, also taught him how to use that in heavy wind situations, so he can still fly steadily in really strong gusts where unpracticed sprites might not be able to.

Make no mistake, despite his willowy frame, Bowman can be considered a top-tier athlete among wood sprites for his aerial acrobatics.

The wings are mostly bat-like, yes, but there’s also the leafy aspect to them (not that the leafiness changes much as far as flight goes). They extend down to about their mid backs, and most of their clothing has slits up the back to accommodate them. This is the reason for the scarf around the waist that Bowman wears. Without it, that middle flap of his shirt could wave about in the wind and it would be distracting as well as a drag to his flight speed.

This is actually a pretty straightforward question. The sprites don’t follow any traditions/beliefs pertaining to a menstrual cycle, because they don’t have one. Despite appearances, they are not closely related to the Great Ape family, and that’s actually one of the only types of mammal that has a cycle.

Sprites, all of my sprites, are Spirit-made, so even though they look a lot like humans there are a handful of biological differences (in the case of the wood sprites, they’re actually part plant so that right there opens up a bunch of differences).

Jacob, explaining this to Dean in Brothers Asunder:

Jacob frowned, feeling a little like a bad guy for what he was suggesting. But, as the only one good to drive the car, he knew that he had some room to insist. Dean needed the rest. Another glance down at Bowman showed that he needed it, too.

It also gave Jacob an idea. He reached out and gently scooped his hand under Bowman. The sprite flopped over on his hand before sitting up sluggishly, blinking slowly. His wings hung slack.

“What?” Bowman groused, his voice heavy with exhaustion.

Jacob looked over Bowman’s slumped form at Dean. “Bowman’s basically a plant, Dean. He’s been up and flying around since well before the sun went down. He needs to recuperate a little, at least. And you probably should, too. You had an arm busted tonight, dude.”

“Plant?” Dean asked, eyebrows scrunched in confusion. “Like energy-from-the-sun kinda plant?” He gave Bowman a slightly accusing look. “And you didn’t want to tell me that? ” he shot at the sprite, sounding put out after being lectured about how Bowman was ‘fine’ not long ago. How in the world was he going to be able to watch out for the little sprite if he didn’t even know something as important as that? At least if he or Jacob needed energy they could grab some coffee or a soda, but a plant…

“We don’t have an extra sun on hand, so you’ll need to take it easy until the morning,” Dean said tartly. “Sam won’t be happy if we run his little brother into the ground when he’s not around.” He held out his hand, beckoning Jacob to hand the sprite over. “I’ll keep an eye on small fry over here and make sure he doesn’t get into any more trouble.”

Sam tends to not be a fan of black coffee, and pine sap is much worse as far as pure bitterness goes. He probably tried it once at Bowman’s insistance, only to hear the sprite cackle as he made a face. Bowman, by contrast, loves the stuff. Sam’s more likely to go for maple or birch sap, as they are much sweeter and milder than pine.

May 1st excerpt:

Bowman grinned, glad to be home again and glad to hear the others so happy to see the giants with him. He spiraled downwards in lazy circles to greet the sprites waiting with Cerul, but one of them took flight on dainty, fluttering wings and rose through the air to intercept him.

“Birdie!” Bowman greeted, opening his arms to catch Rischa as she reached him. His wings, granted extra energy by the coffee, had no trouble compensating for her extra weight as he hovered there. Rischa merely sniffled and hid her face against his chest, hugging him tight. He drifted back down towards the balcony even as Jacob approached with a grin.

April 30th excerpt:

Sam decided to take advantage of it all. “I wonder who’ll be taller after this!” he called. Keeping a hand on the hilt of his sword, he bounced up an inch and landed on the pillow next to Bowman, aiming to upset the sprite’s balance.

Bowman’s grin fell from his face and he stumbled backwards as the pillow sank under Sam’s weight. He tried to compensate his balance with his wings, but in the end the surface under them was too plushy for him to keep his feet.

His last ditch effort to leap up and hover above the pillow failed as well. He couldn’t find his balance and simply ended up falling backwards in a tangle of limbs. “Blast it!” he blurted out, awkwardly trying to roll over and pinning one of his wings.

Above them, Jacob couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Holy shit, Bowman,” he said through his snickers. “I don’t think anyone could have done that any better.”
