You’ve discovered my baby! Evelina does not yet have a story of her own (aside from what’s in my head). She is the character I plan on writing about when I write a book of my own. I’ve developed her my entire life, and am finally fine tuning the character design / background. Nothing is set in stone for her yet, though I am trying her out in a story with @bittykimmy to see how her personality flows.
One day, I hope to publish her story…

Well… I can’t really promise there won’t be any major character deaths.
And crying. There will be crying because I have been crying at some parts. Also, writing the horror story actually gave me and @neonthewrite nightmares. So there’s that, too.
I actually lived up to my nightmares name at last.
Mallory, one of my favorite characters to write, died off in the first story. I was happy to be able to bring her back in AU fics, but then we went and made her cry, too, so now I feel guilty all over again.
Mallory sat herself on the foam of the bed she shared with Walt. The warmth of the blankets she’d lovingly crafted for her family couldn’t touch the shard of ice that had lodged in her heart.
As her tall boys fought, ignoring the threat of any humans nearby hearing them, she sat there and cried and watched her family fracture.

Nothing’s ever out of the question. I’m sure Sam would suggest it to them at some point. The borrowers in the walls have a lot of trust issues with humans, though, so getting all of them to come with Dean would be the hard part.
Offering them a life where they could live without relying on humans would be a wonderful thing. Much safer than a motel.

I never would have thought of watching Supernatural without reading other Supernatural gt stories, so I’m glad to return the favor! I watched an episode when I discovered I really liked those two characters, and I really just wanted to know what they sounded like (I couldn’t go too far without stumbling over pictures of them).
The rest is history.
I’m so glad you love the stories and the rest of the characters! I don’t think I could write without them. The world is flat without some variety, and I aim to get it right whether I’m playing around in my own Aeternum or dipping into the Supernatural cast and dragging Bobby out for a story or two. And my god, Walt… he’s come so much farther than I ever thought he would. Though, to be honest, he has a tendency to do his own thing and I swear I keep thinking he’s going to get himself killed one of these days.
It’s also fun in the AUs to see how a character can be tweaked by different circumstances so they react differently. So, so much fun.

It was hard, but my editor and I had vastly differing opinions on things, and because of that we’d argue about them and I discovered that when this happened, any desire to write would vanish like it was never there. So, I cut things off completely for myself, and I know they probably see things differently. I was tired of dealing with writer’s block constantly, and being talked about behind my back for ‘not listening’ about stuff to put for my own damn story, and it was for my own sanity.
Now, I’ve got three different editors, depending on which series is being worked on at the time.
- Brothers Apart is edited by @neonthewrite, unless she helps write the story in which case we have @creatorofuniverses assist with editing.
- Brothers Found and the massive monstrosity of a horror story is being worked on by @creatorofuniverses, bless her brave soul.
- Brothers Lost is being edited by @kimstaticchild.
The other series are not yet ready for editing, and when they are we’ll have one of our loyal editors take a look at them. Because it was posted as we wrote it, Brothers Together has no editor and each part is posted as-is.
Brothers Apart won’t ever be abandoned, that’s for sure, but once A Lich of Sense is finished posting we’ll let one of the other AU’s shine in order to let me have time to work on the future stories. Don’t worry at all, anyone, all AU’s have my ‘verse style brothers, just in different interaction types, like Brothers Lost, where they are both smol (and I love them so)

As much as I love Archive for its ability to group stories by series, it also mashes everything together if you search by works. On my deviantart page, I’ve actually crafted a listing in order, so you know where each story goes. Found here.
Also, if you go to the Brothers Apart tumblr on an actual web browser, not the app, my lovely cowriter @neonthewrite took the time to put a place for all the stories.
The Stories link will take you to a page that has all the stories listed, and you can toggle between AUs and prompts, and there’s a section with all the upcoming sneak peeks as well. Currently, only Brothers Apart and Brothers Together are listed because the other AUs haven’t been released. This isn’t because we don’t want to! I just can’t physically manage more than three weekly updates. Soon, the other AUs will appear there as they are posted. We honestly can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks.
Daily excerpts are not meant to be confusing, and they aren’t meant to go with any of the stories that are posted. Those are simply a way for everyone to see what we’re working on currently. It’s little snippets from our daily writing, geared to avoid spoilers but letting people know we’re hard at work. The story with extra smol Jacob is found in Brothers Found, so this tiny little guy is used to standing at a full 6′5″ tall normally! He’s really not prepared for what happens – and he doesn’t even shrink to just over an inch at the start. It begins with him ending up ‘sprite-sized,’ as Bowman so eloquently puts it.
Jacob hesitated before taking that last step and leaning on SEND; up until now, he’d merely had a view of trees and birds and squirrels at his new (hopefully not permanent) size. Calling Dean meant he’d be asking someone over six feet tall to come to his aid. With Jacob standing just over four inches, that would a huge shock.
But, he had to stop and remind himself, Dean was probably the best person to trust with this situation. Dean’s younger brother, Sam, was this size, after all. Not from the same thing, as he understood it (thankfully, since they had never found any leads on getting Sam back to his natural size), but still. Dean knew how to deal with smaller people better than anyone else. The guy would probably give Jacob endless shit about it (especially since Jacob had finally passed him in height), but if anyone in the world could help, it was Dean and Sam Winchester.
“Well? Prove that it works!” Bowman said, impatient as he stared at the device. Even when he’d seen Jacob using the phone, he never had a great angle on the object in action. He was convinced that Jacob was either joking with him, or that the device ran by magic. As Jacob pressed a button with a weird green symbol, Bowman watched the phone with eager curiosity. At least it was a momentary distraction from the fact that one of his best friends was almost a twentieth of his usual gigantic size.
Be careful when you’re asking things on the internet, because the people on the other end will have no tone of voice or facial expressions to go on. All they have are the words in front of them to interpret, and that’s how the ask came across.
For the future of BA, there’s a few good plans in motion.
- The story after Lich is completed and currently being edited (it feels so tiny compared to the collabs I’ve done. I have to remind myself that’s how long my stories usually are)
- Both the little guys living at Trails West and the burrow at Bobby’s will appear again.
- Barry, Xander and Garen are still trapped and are in need of a human to save them! (Short story introducing them found here) They will appear in a three-story special mini-series within BA itself.
- Jacob’s feeling left out after missing out on all the fun in Lich, so there will be another appearance of Bowman and the earthbound sprites in BA!
- Aeternum sprites will return when Sam and Dean least expect with an entirely new sprite that they never expected to see.
